CABA Current Meeting Minutes TO: Members of CABA FROM: Kyran Enzi, Secretary RE: MINUTES CABA DINNER MEETING SADDLE CREEK RESORT – OCTOBER 21, 2008After an initial social hour and dinner, President Bill Troyanoski opened the meeting with a welcome to all and began with introductions around the room, especially recognizing new member, Frank Robinson, owner and creator of H2O-TO-GO, who was present that evening with his wife, Renee. Meeting agenda and minutes of the last meeting were on each table. Business brochures and flyers or magazines were available on a table by the door. Speaker Malorie Young of the Calaveras Visitors Bureau handed out the Calaveras County Visitors guide. Her dynamic presentation highlighted the many ways our county is promoted locally as well as world wide, bringing a substantially increased number of visitors despite the economic downturn. Dell announced there were players signed up for the upcoming golf tournament . Sue Funkey said planning for the Copper Run was on track and anyone seeking more information or wanting to register online can go to www.active.com. Nancy Turner reported on the "Shop Copper-CABA Merchants Festival." The Armory will support 18 tables and the cooking demonstration. Laura Miller and Maria Adams of the Calaveras Enterprise circulated after the meeting to present the advertising concepts for the business. Dell spoke of the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting scheduled for December 6, which is the first Saturday in December, to take place at Copper Park by the elementary school at dusk. Dianna Lopez volunteered to make 100 cookies for the event. There is need of donations to fill small bags with items for the children and for someone to supply hot chocolate for the crowd. Volunteers have stepped forward to be nominated for 2009 officers. They include Nancy Turner, President; Clyde Armstrong, Treasurer; and Dell Jackson, Director of Committees. No additional nominations were presented from the floor, and nominations were closed. Al Segalla suggested that businesses might be interested in a CABA "info-mercial " and will look into the possible avenues for this. The November Annual Meeting will be held at the new Panini's Italian Grill on Tuesday, November 18, 6:00 p.m. Election of officers and presentation of charity awards will take place that evening.
